FQC Construction Management

St. Francis of Assisi Church

New Worship Facility

Extending a long and successful relationship, the Archdiocese of Chicago and St. Francis of Assisi Parish selected Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) to provide At-Risk Construction Management Services to construct the first permanent home of this fledging parish. Located in the southwest suburbs this parish had outgrown its temporary facility and was in dire need of a building to meets the needs of this faith community. FQC worked closely with the project architect and client to determine the building methods and materials most appropriate for the facility and the associated budget. FQC managed the solicitation and selection of subcontractors to guarantee that workmanship and attention to detail were uncompromised. FQC guided the project team through the construction phase, accepting all the challenges and resolving problems to enable the building to open on time and under budget. Some highlights of the facility include:

  • Nave seating for 1000 including a sloped sanctuary floor to promote better sight lines and a glue laminated wood timber structure with bow string trusses spanning 104’ across the width of the space.
  • 76’ bell tower with fully functional carillon system. Housed at the base of the chapel is a 24-hour devotional chapel with secured access from the exterior.
  • Full development of 18-acre parcel including wetlands mitigation, storm water management, parking lots and recreational spaces.
