WILCO Area Career Center

Renovation

Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) was selected as Construction Manager for renovations to the WILCO Area Career Center. Construction started in March 2016. The project included a new standalone 3,000 SF pre-engineered storage building and significant renovations and upgrades to the existing 14,000 SF Career Center.

The Wilco Area Career Center is a cooperative agreement among the high schools of several school districts, including: Lemont Township High School District 210, Plainfield CCSD 202, Reed-Custer CUSD 255, Valley View CUSD 365U and Wilmington School District 209-U. This centralized facility, offers their students a variety of quality vocational and technical education programs. Wilco’s programs offer students career-based courses that provide skills necessary to succeed in the workforce.

This revitalization program included a new boiler system, new air-conditioning, renovations to the existing classrooms, new computer lab, new welding classroom and lab along with renovations to the hallways and swing spaces. Site work included new sidewalks, site lighting, parking upgrades and detention. The work took place during the summer and was completed for the fall 2016 school year.
